DESCRIPTION:
Eskilstuna Municipality is carrying out extensive work to increase the utilization of digitalisation's opportunities to develop the municipality's operations.
The municipality has initiated a project to establish the foundation for becoming a data -driven municipality and also has ongoing projects to modernize processes and system support in central functions such as HR and economics.
A basic prerequisite for the municipality to get the expected benefits/values with these initiatives is that the municipality has a well -functioning handling of our common basic data (master data).
The municipality has previously identified the management of master data as a neglected area within our operations and it is now important to improve our management of the area.
As a first step in this, the municipality has initiated a survey/documentation of our central master's data within one of the projects (architecture for data -driven insights).
However, we have limited resources and lack deeper knowledge in the field and therefore need to strengthen our organization with an information architect who has expertise, experience and drive to lead this survey/documentation.
The assignment
The assignment consists of organizing, managing, providing expert knowledge within, and being responsible for a survey, modeling and documentation of Eskilstuna municipality's basic master's data for:
The assignment's delivery consists in a documentation of the municipality's master data that includes:
The assignment also includes, where no further investigation is required, documenting current source systems/services for in -depth attributes and relationships.
The assignment is carried out in parallel with the development of its own organization to handle architecture and management, which is why knowledge transfer to the client's organization is part of the assignment.
The consultant is expected to have his own tools to document the model and this should be in format that can easily be transferred to an architectural tool (for example Sparx EA)
Delimitations
The assignment does not include any work on implementing any changes in how the municipality handles master data at present, neither within management (Master Data Governance) nor within tools/methods for distributing master data.
Resources from the municipality
The municipality has a business architect and a solution architect allocated to this work part -time.The municipality also ensures that support from domain experts in each area (core operations, HR, economy etc) is available for this assignment.
